The magnolia wood blade guard, or saya, is designed to securely store the knife to preserve the knife blade without stallions. The kit also includes a wooden locking needle or ""saya pin", with which you can safely lock the knife into the blade guard. (to use the locking needle, it is necessary to additionally drill a suitable hole in the blade guard, the location of which depends more precisely on the blade shape of the knife).
