The santoku is a cross between a cooking knife (gyuto) and a chopping knife (nakiri). The tip of the blade, which is directed downwards from the center of the knife, allows you to find a more stable support on the work surface and a larger cutting surface. It is well suited for cutting and chopping meat, fish, vegetables and fruits. The santoku is a very popular general knife in Japanese homes Thanks to the wider blade, it is very convenient to use the santoku to lift chopped food from the cutting board into the pot.
The Samura Pro-S Lunar series of knives is a more luxurious version of the popular Por-S series of knives. The blade of the knife is made of 67-layer Damascus steel (61 HRC).
The handles are made of G-10 composite material and have an impeccable finish. The knives of the Lunar series are particularly suitable for those who appreciate a slightly heavier knife than the typical Japanese chef's knife.
The sides of the Samura Pro-S Lunar collection knives have hammer marks and tumada or kurouchi surface treatment, but most importantly - practical, comfortable and sharp.
